Faithfully Magazine has been absent from your inbox the past few weekends, and you deserve an explanation.
As the volunteer managing editor and newsletter producer, my attention has been largely consumed by caregiving responsibilities for an ill family member — a season made even more demanding by coordinating a move at the same time. If you've walked alongside someone through a difficult health journey, particularly an elderly loved one, you know how suddenly and completely it can take over your life.
I apologize for the gap in coverage, especially during a period when so much has been unfolding in the U.S. and around the world. We are getting back on track, with timely discussions tentatively planned for late June and into July.
In the meantime, as we continue to navigate the intersections of justice, faith, and culture, here are two recent articles from around the web that are well worth your time:
A longer, compelling commentary about the Karmelo Anthony case that suggests race predetermined the outcome. Read it here
A brief and thoughtful response to the Southern Baptist Convention's vote rejecting member churches that "affirm, appoint, or endorse a woman serving in the office or function of a pastor/elder/overseer, specifically preaching to the assembled congregation.” Read it here
Thank you for your patience and continued support.
