When I recently interviewed Dr. Tony Evans, I started off with questions about his (surprise) restoration — although the interview was initially arranged to address the viral rapture trend in light of his new Revelation Bible study.
Given that topic, I attempted to bring attention to eschatological speculation about Donald Trump, ongoing since he emerged as a presidential contender in 2016.
Evans, who has preached often on Revelation and the end times during his 50-year ministry, had a lot to say about how Christians should interpret current events in relation to prophecy. How did he address the antichrist question?

For the record, I believe Trump has certainly presented himself as an antichrist — one of many throughout history who claimed to represent God (or be a god) while acting in ways that contradict His principles. Click the link to read why (it's free).
P.S.: We've also (finally) released the full video interview with Evans about his restoration, Revelation study, and "last years" of ministry for paid subscribers here.

Church Elder Honored for Military Service
Ruth Ellen Lewis Marshall, 98, was finally honored for her WWII military service. One of two remaining survivors of the predominantly African American 6888 Central Postal Directory Battalion (there's a Netflix movie and PBS documentary), the AME church Mother was presented with several medals for her sacrifice in a private ceremony. Is ChatGPT a "suicide coach?" The Social Media Victims Law Center and Tech Justice Law Project filed seven lawsuits against OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman, alleging wrongful death, assisted suicide, involuntary manslaughter and claims related to product liability, consumer protection and negligence. Assemblies of God churches have repeatedly reinstated ministers and volunteer leaders accused of sexual misconduct, returning them to pulpits and youth groups. While some other large Christian denominations now require protections like background checks and mandatory reporting, national AoG leaders have resisted such safeguards. (NBC)
Trump is reportedly considering granting protection to far-right European party members, in line with a revamped refugee program preferencing English speakers and White South Africans. (Mother Jones) Aid groups have condemned the proposal (Independent), while prominent Afrikaners, including Christian clergy, refuse to be props in the president's false white persecution story (NPR).
On Our Radar: New Movie 'Sarah's Oil'
"Sarah’s Oil," inspired by the true story of Sarah Rector, tells the story of an African American girl born in Oklahoma Indian Territory in the early 1900s who believes there is oil beneath the barren land she’s allotted and whose faith is proven right. As greedy oil sharks close in, Sarah turns to her family, friends, and some Texas wildcatters to maintain control of her oil-rich land, eventually becoming among the nation's first female African American millionaires — at eleven years old.
Starring Zachary Levi of "Shazam!" and "Star Trek’s" Sonequa Martin-Green — alongside young actress Naya Desir-Johnson — we think young viewers will especially be drawn to Sarah's story. Watch the featurette to learn more (or buy the book). You can also grab tickets here.
